From childhood fairy tales to the stirring narratives of our personal experiences, stories have the gift of connecting us, moving us, and teaching us.

The power of stories is something that profoundly impacts our lives.

Recently, I finished reading the book “Long Story Shorts” by author Margot Leitman. So, I decided to share a bit about what I learned here, after all, as the saying goes:

“Good knowledge is shared knowledge.”

But my attitude isn’t 100% altruistic

So, here’s a bonus tip:

Write and share about what you’re learning and reading in books. The act of writing aids in understanding the content. Therefore, creating posts like this one, which summarize, explain, or quote what you’ve just absorbed, helps both the writer and the reader.

It’s a win-win!

I’ve compiled 6 tips for writing better stories.

1. Be Yourself

One of the first lessons from the book is the importance of being authentic when telling a story.
